The Top 5 Holiday Gifts of 2013

My birthday is around Christmas.  Every year I try to get the best presents. I have picked out my top five Christmas and birthday presents for a boy for 2013.     

5.   I love to read.  My favorite book this year is Diary Of A Wimpy Kid: Hard Luck by Jeff Kinney. The whole series is full of witty comics and Greg's foolish misadventures.  If the kid in your life loves books, this is the present for him.

4. Hot Wheels cars and sets are super fast, super small and plain awesome mini cars.  My pick is the  Triple Track Twister. I like the TTT because the cars go upside down in this track. I don't know a kid who doesn't like Hot Wheels.

3.  Legos are fun to build with lots of pieces to get everywhere.  I love creating models and once I made my own Area 51.  My favorites for 2013 are the Chima sets. I like the mini fig characters the best because they look like humanoid animals.

2.  Furbys are adorable, fuzzy interactive robot toys.  The Furby Booms require an app. My Furby, Tho Tah, is all blue and very cute. He talks back to me and even dances when I play music for him.

The number one holiday gift of 2013 is...Skylanders Swap Force.  Swap Force is the best because you can swap the characters.  In the game you have to save Skylands from the evil Kaos. It is awesome because the story is fun and you can collect all of the figures.

Any of these gifts will guarantee that you have a excellent holiday.

Transformers Prime: Predacons Rising

Transformers Prime: Predacons Rising is the coolest Transformers story yet.  It has all of the fan favorites like the heroic Autobots, and the evil Decepticons.  Even the beastly Predicons, and the undead Terrorcons show up in the movie.  The movie tells the story of Unicron, a planet destroyer, as he possesses the Decepticon leader, Megatron.

Megatron was believed to be slain by the Autobot scout Bumblebee.  However, the evil bot is revived by Unicron.  Optimus Prime, the Autobot leader is trying to start a new life on their home planet Cybertron.  The possessed Megatron tries to destroy Cybertron.  So, the Autobots go to the Predacon leader, Predaking for help. A Predicon is a robot that can turn into a dragon.  They can help by providing powerful bots for an Autobots army.

I like how Transformers Prime told the story.    I like the movie because it has dragons and Megatron looks awesome in his new spiky design.   Watch Transformers Prime on Hub or Netflix streaming. Transform and roll out!!!

Toys of Awesomeness- Soundwave Disks vs. Tapes

In Transformers there is an awesome character named Soundwave who has five tapes that turn into robots.  In the past they were tapes now they are disks.  They are very different but very alike too. Ways that they are alike are they are Transformers and they pop out of Soundwave.  The ways they are different are the disks are futuristic but the tapes are classic. For the disks Soundwave is a car however for the tapes he is a cassette player.  The disks are from the Fall of Cybertron and the tapes are from the Generation One toy line.

Even with all of the visual differences  they are the same guys. My opinion is they are brilliant regardless of style.

Kool Komix - Part 1

   Do you want to know the best comic book for kids?  Of course you do!  Kids ages 3 to 12 would love it. The comic is called Tiny Titans and I have laughed so hard milk came out of my ears!  I have been reading it since I was 2.  

   It is made by Art Blatzar and Franco with DC Comics.  It shows kid versions of DC side kicks doing normal stuff like going to school, but it is super funny.  One of the jokes is Speedy carrying an apple and Green Arrow says, "I don't think you need any props for your William Tell report."  Another of my favorite jokes is when Robin's suit turned pink because of Super Girl's cape in the wash.   

   If you are a kid or have a kid who likes DC sidekicks you should buy Tiny Titans.  They don't make them any more but you can get back issues and read Art Blatzar and Franco's other comics: Itty Bitty Hellboy and Superman Family Adventures.
