Matt Groening

Two of my favorite shows are The Simpsons and Futurama.  They are the best because Matt Groening, their creator, makes super funny stuff and is really unique.

Matt was born in Portland, Oregon and went to Evergreen State for College.  Before he was a cartoonist he had many jobs and was even a busboy.   He got his start writing his first the comic, Life in Hell.   The Simpsons, Matt's second cartoon was originally created for The Tracey Ullman ShowThe Simpsons is based on American family life and his own experience growing up in Portland.  Most characters in the show are even named after people in his family or streets in Portland.

Futurama was the other show he made in 1999 and takes place in the year 3000. It grew from Matt's desire to make a science fiction cartoon.  He was a fan of sci-fi literature and cover art and wanted to see that in a Simpsons style universe.

He has been involved in the cartooning, writing, producing, music, comedy, and voice acting of the shows.  He has made lots of cameos on the Simpsons and Futuama.  Matt has won a British Comedy Award, many Emmys and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame just to name a few.

Matt, in my opinion is really great and inspires me to make comics and cartoons.  So, check out The Simpsons, Futurama, and Life In Hell.

D'OH!

Game On! Minecraft

Minecraft is the coolest game ever!  Mojang makes it and you can get it by downloading it on the computer, PS3,  or XBOX.  It is fun to play and has a unique look.

The appearance of the game has a blocky and pixelated look but it is 3D.  The game play is a virtual world and online multi player! The story is you are a miner that first has to survive the night and then go to the Nether (Hell) and the End (creepy place). You can choose to play in this survival mode or create limitless worlds and spawn creatures in the creative mode.

There are tons of characters as you play. You are Steve, a miner. The awesome enemies are freaky like "zombies" and "creepers".  The zombies run up and attack you and the creepers explode if you get too close.  You need to mine supplies to craft  a shelter and weapons to fight the creepy creepers.

My favorite thing about the game are all the different characters you meet. I have met lots of people who love the game.  My opinion is it is a must play.
SSSSSS....BOOM!!!!

The Top 5 Holiday Gifts of 2013

My birthday is around Christmas.  Every year I try to get the best presents. I have picked out my top five Christmas and birthday presents for a boy for 2013.

5.   I love to read.  My favorite book this year is Diary Of A Wimpy Kid: Hard Luck by Jeff Kinney. The whole series is full of witty comics and Greg's foolish misadventures.  If the kid in your life loves books, this is the present for him.

4. Hot Wheels cars and sets are super fast, super small and plain awesome mini cars.  My pick is the  Triple Track Twister. I like the TTT because the cars go upside down in this track. I don't know a kid who doesn't like Hot Wheels.

3.  Legos are fun to build with lots of pieces to get everywhere.  I love creating models and once I made my own Area 51.  My favorites for 2013 are the Chima sets. I like the mini fig characters the best because they look like humanoid animals.

2.  Furbys are adorable, fuzzy interactive robot toys.  The Furby Booms require an app. My Furby, Tho Tah, is all blue and very cute. He talks back to me and even dances when I play music for him.

The number one holiday gift of 2013 is...Skylanders Swap Force.  Swap Force is the best because you can swap the characters.  In the game you have to save Skylands from the evil Kaos. It is awesome because the story is fun and you can collect all of the figures.

Any of these gifts will guarantee that you have a excellent holiday.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!!!
